Disabled Resident Register

In the event of emergency where the building needs to be evacuated, residents are required to vacate the building via the stairs and muster away from the building until the all clear is given by the Fire Service or any other authority that takes control of the emergency.

Where there are people residing in the building with a physical impairment and in the case where they are required to vacate the building but they are not able to easily do so, the process is for these people to remain on the floor and (if possible) advise an abled bodied person to notify services that "the floor is not clear - that there is a disabled resident on floor (XX) apartment (YY)." The emergency controller will make arrangements to evacuate that person.

As it is not always possible to give notice to emergency services by this method at the time so to manage this Administrate Body Corporate maintains a Disabled Resident Register for Galleria On Tory Apartments and on completing the following form, the information contained in this will be passed onto emergency services to update their building database with the name, location and nature of the disabled resident.

In the event that the status of disabled resident changes, it is asked thet they or a care giver updates the Body Corporate Managers via this form so that the emergency services database can also be updated. Administrate will endeavour to regularly seek updates from residents and notify emergency services of changes.
